LONDON Kuwaiti patients in Britain will have their treatment extended until end of March, head of Kuwait Health Office in London Dr. Abdullah Al-Rushaid said Sunday.
The treatment of Kuwaiti patients will be extended due to current exceptional circumstances caused by spread of coronavirus as well as closure of Kuwait International Airport, Al-Rushaid told KUNA.
Any patient wishing to continue treatment back in Kuwait once airport opens, he said, should contact the Health office and coordinate with the Embassy to facilitate his/her return.
Al-Rushaid called on citizens who were not receiving treatment but run out of their medications to visit the office to help provide medicine for them.
Kuwait’s Embassy in London called on citizens in Britain to always remain indoors and only leave in case of necessity.
After World Health Organization’s (WHO) declaration that coronavirus was a pandemic and spreading at a fast pace, the embassy said in a statement, “Everybody should take extreme caution and abide by instructions.” The number of deaths of the coronavirus in Britain amounted to 21, while 1,140 people were infected by the virus.
The Britiah premier league suspended all matchs up until early next month. Organizers of the London marathong postponed the event, originally scheduled for April 4, until next October.
