– Kuwaiti fencers took home a silver and five bronze medals across individual and team men’s and women’s events at the closing day of the Arab Championship in Bahrain on Thursday.
These included a silver in the men’s team saber, alongside bronze medals in the men’s team foil, men’s team epee and women’s team epee. Bronze medals were also taken home individually by Hassan Al-Foudari in the epee event, and Ali Al-Nassar in the foil.
Kuwait Fencing Association opted to involve the junior side in the regional tournament aiming to prepare the youngsters for future competitions and increase their interation with fellow fencers around the world, the national team’s manager Abdulkarim Al-Shamlan told KUNA.
He praised the young Kuwaitis’ performances, saying the country hopes to build a strong side capable of achieving titles on the continental and global scales
