Kuwait’s 16th Humanitarian Planeload Takes Off to Syria

Kuwait City: The 16th relief planeload took off from Kuwait to Damascus International Airport carrying 36 tons of foodstuff and shelter necessities. This was organized by Kuwait Relief Society in partnership with other charities and state bodies as part of the “Kuwait Is By Your Side” campaign.

According to Kuwait News Agency, Chief of the Relief Society, Jamal Al-Nouri, stated that they are setting out to meet the increasing demands on essentials in Syria, as this would have an effect on communal stability. Al-Nouri confirmed that they are in contact with the Syrian Red Crescent to identify needs and facilitate delivery of aid, expressing gratitude to all concerned bodies for their efforts.

Najat Charity official Abdulghafour Al-Abdulghafour noted that this mission is an implementation of the leadership’s directives and an embodiment of the fraternal relations between the two nations. He clarified that the aid includes flour, rice, and dates, as well as blankets, warm clothes, and gloves.

Namaa Charity official Khaled Al-Shamri explained that they are working towards sending more aid, including food, medicine, and shelter essentials, through plane and truckloads to people in need. Kuwaiti aid to Syria, through the air bridge, has reached 479 tons.
