Kuwait’s Abdullah Al-Salem Culture Center nominated for int’l award

Kuwait’s Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem Cultural Center on Tuesday declared the nomination for the 2021 LCD Berlin Awards in the category of the “New Cultural Destination of the Year” in the Middle East and Africa.

In a statement, the center said that the nominees for the “Oscars for Museums” include also 39 cultural bodies of 21 countries vying for some prestigious awards.

The winners will be announced in the last quarter of this year, it added. Meanwhile, the center’s director Christian Wacker expressed pride for this nomination, saying it is one of the most famous cultural awards in the world.

Thea year’s edition includes 13 varied awards, which will be given to the winners in Berlin.

The center embodies the Amiri Diwan’s vision based on enhancing Kuwait’s role as a cultural minaret that includes Arab, Islamic and Kuwaiti cultural and historical works.
