LONDON, The UK government said on Thursday that more than 750,000 European Union citizens have applied to remain living in Britain after it leaves the bloc (Brexit).
In addition, at least three million EU nationals living was one of the first issues to be tackled in divorce talks with the bloc. Moreover, EU citizens have until December 31, 2020 to apply for settling, according to a report by Reuters.
“EU citizens are our friends, neighbors and colleagues who contribute so much to this country. Whatever the outcome of Brexit we want them to stay,” the Interior Minister Sajid Javid said.
Also, citizens who lived more than five years in Britain may have the rights to work, study and access benefits and service.
