Mosque blast kills 50 in N. Afghanistan

A suicide bomber has targeted a mosque in the northern Afghan city of Kunduz during Friday prayers, killing at least 50 people, said local officials.

Ambulances rushed to the incident scene to carry the dead, the officials were quoted by BBC as saying.

No group has yet claimed responsibility for the deadly attack.

The mosque explosion came days after an attack by the Islamic State outside a mosque in Kabul, the capital, which killed several people.
