BRUSSELS, The Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) confirmed Thursday that the OPCW Fact-Finding Mission team is on its way to Syria.
A spokesman for OPCW said in a short statement said the mission team would start its work as of Saturday April 14.
OPCW main task is to implement the provisions of the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC), in order to achieve the OPCW’s vision of a world that is free of chemical weapons and of the threat of their use, and in which cooperation in chemistry for peaceful purposes for all is fostered.
OPCW ultimate aim is to contribute to international security and stability, to general and complete disarmament, and to global economic development.
