Pakistan Claims to Shoot Down 5 Indian Fighter Jets

Islamabad: Pakistan’s Defense Minister, Khawaja Asif, announced on Wednesday that the country has successfully shot down five Indian fighter jets following Indian airstrikes on six locations within Pakistani borders.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the Defense Minister stated that in addition to the fighter jets, Pakistan also downed multiple unmanned aerial vehicles and destroyed several check posts along the Line of Control (LoC). The Federal Information Minister, Attaullah Tarar, corroborated these claims, specifying that the incidents took place in Akhnoor, Ambala, Barnala, and Jammu.

Minister Tarar further elaborated, “We also shot down quad copters and a big drone. It is an ongoing situation; we need to see what India does.” The downed Indian aircraft reportedly included three Rafale jets, alongside a Russian Su-30 and MiG-29. In response to the escalating tensions, the Pakistani Prime Minister has called for a National Security Committee meeting on Wednesday.
