Pakistani Forces Kill 13 Terrorists, Rescue 80 Hostages in Train Attack

Kuwait City: Pakistan’s security forces killed 13 terrorists and rescued 80 passengers so far from the train attack in Pakistan’s southwestern Balochistan province where militants intercepted a train with around 500 passengers on board.

According to Kuwait News Agency, security forces have killed 13 terrorists and injured many others during the operation against the attack on Jaffar Express in Dhadar area of Bolan Pass in Balochistan.

The reports said that injured passengers have been transferred to nearby hospitals while additional security squads are taking part in the operation in the area. It confirmed that 80 hostages held by terrorists were rescued by security forces so far including 43 men, 26 women and 11 children.

The terrorists split into small groups due to security forces’ operation, said Radio Pakistan citing security sources. Balochistan government spokesperson Shahid Rind in a statement to media said that officials are facing difficulties in reaching the site due to the challenging terrain.

“The railway department has sent more trains to the site to provide rescue,” he added. He further said that the Balochistan government has ordered that emergency measures be taken, and all institutions remain active.

An emergency has been imposed in all government run hospitals of the province to cope with any situation.
