Pakistan’s NSC Authorizes Military Response to Indian Strikes

Kuwait City: Pakistan’s National Security Committee (NSC) has granted the Armed Forces the authority to respond to Indian strikes at a time, place, and manner of their choosing. This decision aims to avenge the loss of innocent Pakistani lives and address the violation of Pakistan’s sovereignty.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the NSC meeting was chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad. During the meeting, it was noted that Pakistan’s armed forces defended the country’s territorial integrity, including areas in Pakistan-administered Kashmir, against Indian aggression. In the process, they successfully brought down five Indian fighter aircraft and unmanned aerial vehicles.

The NSC meeting acknowledged the anguish felt by the Pakistani nation over India’s actions and praised the bravery and courage of the Armed Forces for their timely defense of the motherland. It emphasized the nation’s unity and resolve in the face of potential further aggression.

The committee urged the international community to recognize the seriousness of India’s actions and hold it accountable for violations of international norms and laws. It reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to peace, asserting that the nation will not tolerate any violation of its sovereignty or harm to its people.

The meeting detailed recent Indian military actions, which included coordinated missile, air, and drone strikes on multiple locations in Pakistan, such as Sialkot, Shakargarh, Muridke, and Bahawalpur in Punjab, as well as Kotli and Muzaffarabad in Kashmir. These attacks targeted civilian areas under the pretext of alleged terrorist camps, resulting in civilian casualties and infrastructure damage, including mosques.

The NSC highlighted the risk posed to commercial airlines from Gulf countries due to India’s actions, which endangered thousands of passengers. The Neelum-Jhelum Hydropower Project was also targeted, violating international conventions. The NSC condemned these acts as violations of Pakistan’s sovereignty and acts of war under international law.

The meeting concluded by denouncing the deliberate targeting of civilians by the Indian military as a violation of international law and norms of human behavior.
