Palestinian child dies from injury in “Great March of Return” – medics

GAZA, A Palestinian child died Saturday of a serious gunshot wound caused by the Israeli occupation army during participation in the “Great March of Return” on Gaza border, said Palestinian Health Ministry.

Fifteen-year-old Jamal Abdulrahman was shot by Israeli army’s fire at his head yesterday (Friday) in eastern Rafah city, south of Gaza Strip, spokesman for the ministry Ashraf Al-Qudra said in a press release.

This came at a time when local media said that an Israeli reconnaissance aircraft attacked targets in northern Gaza, leading to setting fire to a position belonging to Palestinian resistance in northern the Strip.

Meanwhile, Israeli army’s spokesman Afikhai Adrei said in a press statement carried by Israel’s media that the army’s troops targeted a tunnel belonging to the resistance, few meters away from some Israeli areas.

The Israeli occupation army has recently threatened to shell targets in Gaza before marking the anniversary of the Nakba (catastrophe) of the Palestinian people in 1948.

Palestinians are preparing to stage one-million-man march near the eastern border of the Strip next Monday and Tuesday.
