Paris Hosts Global AI Summit with International Participation

Paris: Paris is set to host the Summit for Action on Artificial Intelligence (AI) on Monday in the presence of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah’s Representative, Minister of State for Communication Affairs Omar Al-Omar.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the AI summit scheduled for February 10 and 11 at the Grand Palais in Paris offers a significant opportunity for numerous countries, including the U.S. and China, and partners from all continents, including Africa, to engage in dialogue about AI technology. Co-chaired by France and India, the summit will leverage the expertise of a steering committee composed of around 30 countries and international institutions to ensure inclusive and diverse contributions.

Organizers have stated in a press release that AI is not just an industrial and technological revolution but a potential catalyst for profound societal transformations in areas such as knowledge, labor, information, culture, and language. They emphasized that the revolution driven by AI transcends boundaries, making it a scientific, economic, cultural, political, and civil cause necessitating extensive international dialogue. This dialogue will be attended by governments, scholars, companies, creative professionals, and civil society to foster a more cooperative future.

The summit aims to promote open and comprehensive progress in the AI field, focusing on sovereignty and strategic independence in essential technologies affecting societies and economies. On February 10 and 11, 2025, Paris will become the focal point for AI discussions globally, bringing together heads of State and Government, international organizations, companies of all sizes, academia representatives, researchers, non-governmental organizations, artists, and other members of civil society.

The primary goal of the AI Action Summit is to collectively establish scientific foundations, solutions, and standards for more sustainable AI that supports collective progress and serves the public interest.
