The New Generation Parliamentary Bloc confirmed that it is the duty of the Kurdistan Regional Government to serve the families of the victims of the Anfal disaster and compensate them, and we are pressing in this direction.

The bloc said, in a press statement today, Friday, “Because of our lack of confidence in the failed regional government, we are working hard in Baghdad to compensate the victims of Anfal and Halabja by the Iraqi government.”

It explained, “For 32 years, the officials of the Kurdistan region did not talk about the “Anfal massacre” except for issuing statements, as the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan and the Kurdistan Democratic Party own all the gains, positions, and money they gained due to trading in the name of Anfal, Halabja, and the victims, but so far they have not provided any information.

It added, “Our pressure and efforts within the region will continue to change this bad governance between the PUK and KDP and to form a good government in the region to serve all the people of Kurdistan.”/ End
