RAMALLAH, The Palestinian National Authority’s (PNA) leadership announced, on Tuesday, that countermeasures will be taken to express condemnation against the US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo’s announcement that the Trump Administration will no longer view Israeli settlements as against international law.
WAFA News Agency added, in a press statement today, that PNA would head to the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) and United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), the Arab League, and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to take vital resolutions in protection of the Palestinian people’s legal rights, according to the international law and legitimacy. PNA started a series of meetings in order to take the proper procedures to encounter the US resolutions against the Palestinian cause, it added.
It will communicate with the Arab and international organizations and the International Criminal Court (ICC) to urge them to take strong positions against the US decisions of Jerusalem, and settlements.
PNA stressed on the importance of setting mechanisms to implement the UN resolution number 2334 that condemns the Israeli settlements, and consider it as illegal action according to the international law.
It called in the Palestinian people in their homeland and worldwide to work hardly to upset this conspiracy to terminate the Palestinian people.
On his party, Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh announced the holding of an urgent meeting for the cabinet tomorrow to discuss the consequences of the US announcement regarding the legitimacy of the Israeli settlements.
