Pompeo, Indonesian FM reaffirm Strategic Partnership

Secretary Mike Pompeo met with Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi on Tuesday to reaffirm the US-Indonesia Strategic Partnership, according to a State Department readout.

In their agreement the leaders noted that “the United States and Indonesia should continue to work together, as two major democracies, promoting a free and open Indo-Pacific,” it said.

They also discussed regional issues, “such as North Korea and the South China Sea, and committed to deepening counterterrorism cooperation,” the statement affirmed.
