Putin says wished have changed Soviet Union collapse

Russian President Vladimir Putin said Friday the collapse of the Soviet Union was the event that he could have changed.

This was the major event that “I wished” could have changed when it happened, the Kremlin leader told a news conference in Kaliningrad, cited by Russian TV.

Putin praised the achievements of the Russian military industries complext, noting that USD 21 billion of Russian weapons were sold last year.

He said Russian experts succeeded in developing unprecedented weapon systems that contributed to the construction of high-speed submarines.

Putin has been making headlines ahead of the presidential elections, due on March 18.
