Italian Foreign Minister Moavero Milanesi held talks on Friday with the visiting Qatari Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammad bin Abdulrahman bin Jassem Al-Thani on regional issues namely efforts to resolve the Gulf crisis.
Italian Foreign Ministry said in a statement that the minister Milanesi assured his guest that Rome remained committed to maintaining political, economic and cultural bonds with the Gulf country.
The talks have also touched on Libya, immigration and Syria, the official statement said.
On the Gulf crisis, the Italian official affirmed Rome’s stance in support of a diplomatic solution, based on dialogue among the stakeholders.
Earlier, Sheikh Mohammad held talks with Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte.
