DOHA, Qatari Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and US President Donald Trump discussed on Tuesday the latest developments in the region mainly in Iraq.
This came during a telephone conversation between the Qatari Amir and the US President, Qatar News Agency (QNA) said.
The two sides focused on means of resolving issues and reducing tension so as to achieve stability and security, it added.
The call also covered the strategic relations between the two friendly countries and horizons of promoting and developing them, it noted.
The US Department of Defense announced last Friday that the US army carried out decisive defensive action during which the leader of Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps-Quds Force Qassem Soleimani was killed.
