TEHRAN– Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said on Monday that Iran’s economic situation is much better than average global growth, adding that this, yet, does not mean that there are no problems.
Rouhani was quoted by local reports as saying during a parliamentary meeting that Iranian economy registered a six percent growth in the first six months, while the average figure in other countries stood between two or three percent.
“The fact is that the status of the country’s economy is much better than its global average and why such an important fact should not be heeded,” he said.
He defied that the Iranian people would overcome all difficulties, and would never let a minor group to violate the rule of law and religious sanctities, and damage public assets.
Anti-government demonstrations and protests erupted on Thursday in Iran’s second city of Mashhad, and then spread to other cities nationwide.
