Russia confirms first two coronavirus cases

MOSCOWRussian Deputy Prime Minister Tatiana Golikova said Friday two persons have contracted the novel coronavirus (2019 nCoV) in Russia.

The two infected people are Chinese citizens; they are kept in quarantine for two weeks, she told reporters here.

Golikova, who is in charge of the health and social services sector in the Russian government, noted that one of the two cases was discovered in Tyumen region, west Siberia, and the other in the Far East.

She added that her government decided to bring back the Russian citizens from Wuhan city, central China, and halt the direct flight to and from Chinese cities, except for Beijing and Shanghai.
