Russia and France said Monday there was no alternative to the solution of the Syrian conflict but UN Security Council resolution 2554.
Russian and French foreign ministers, Sergey Lavrov and Jean-Yves Le Drian respectively, reiterated commitment to the solution of the crisis in Syria in line with UN resolution 2554.
They also discussed during a phone call the situation in general in Syria, the Russian foreign ministry said in a statement.
Lavrov briefed Le Drian about outcome of the Syrian national dialogue conference which was held in Sochi on January 30.
The conference, added Lavrov, “gave a new positive push for the UN-sponsored negotiations in Geneva.
