Russia reiterates support to two-state solution to Mideast conflict

MOSCOW, Russia re-affirmed on Friday its commitment to the two-state solution to settle the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.

This came during a meeting held between Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Secretary General of the Popular Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine Nayef Hawatmeh, said the ministry in a statement.

Lavrov stressed his country’s abidance by this solution based on the international legal base, including the UN Security Council resolutions and the Arab peace initiative, it added.

Moscow has repeatedly criticized Washington’s measures to recognize Jerusalem City as Israel’s capital and relocate the US embassy to the city.
