Palestinian Salfeet municipality named on Monday a main road in the city after Kuwait National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanim.
The naming for the road after Speaker Al-Ghanim comes to honor him for support of the Palestinian causes, President of Salfeet municipality Abdulkareem Zubaidi told KUNA.
Zubaidi said the municipality wanted to presents this modest gift to Al-Ghanim and to the State of Kuwait, although the street is small, and the city is small and does not have huge gardens.
However, Zubaidi added the street has a special symbolic perception to Palestinians, a symbol for the resistance to Palestinians and confrontations against the Israeli occupation forces.
“We wanted to name the street after Al-Ghanim, as a symbol of defiance and resistance for the Palestinians and in appreciation for his free voice in support to Al-Quds, we chose his name to honor all Palestinian martyrs and those injured,” Zubaidi added.
Palestinians also praised Al-Ghanim’s speech at various international arena events.
Salfeet located north of the West Bank, which includes 19 civilian complexes and has one of the biggest water storages in the area.
