Saudi Arabia urges removing Sudan from US terror list

JEDDAH, The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on Wednesday called for lifting Sudan from the US list of state sponsors of terrorism.

The call came during a meeting held between Saudi Minister of the State for African Affairs Ahmad Qattan and visiting US Envoy to Sudan Donald Booth, the Saudi news agency reported.

During the meeting, Qattan underlined the significance of coordination and cooperation among all regional and friendly countries in order to ensure a smooth transitional process in Sudan, it said.

The Saudi minister also restated the kingdom’s support for Sudan’s stability and security. (end) nsa.mt
