The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and Saudi Arabia are fully prepared to host a conference on peace efforts in Afghanistan on 10-11 July.
In a statement by OIC on Sunday, the organization said that senior Afghan clerics and Muslim scholars from around the world would attend the International Conference of Muslim Scholars on Peace and Stability in the Republic of Afghanistan.
The conference will focus on boosting peace efforts in Afghanistan and fight terrorism and extremism, it added.
The event will include a session titled “tolerance in Islam”, shedding light on the role of scholars in bringing peace and stability to the country, while the second session is titled “Islam’s view on terrorism and extremism,” OIC said.
The conference was held based on the resolutions of the 45th OIC Council of Foreign Ministers, held in Dhaka on May 6.
