A security source in Diyala confirmed the decrease in smuggling operations due to the qualitative operations and hitting the smugglers’ dens inside the governorate.

The source told the correspondent of the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA) that smuggling operations in Diyala decreased significantly due to the plans of joint Diyala operations, which include intensifying checkpoints on external roads, intelligence monitoring, and intensive preemptive operations against smugglers’ dens.

He added that the security forces in Diyala have achieved unprecedented successes in combating smuggling and liberating roads from royalties gangs. In addition to dismantling smuggling networks and arresting their members. Stressing that the plans are proceeding according to the objectives set for them, in coordination with the elite forces, which continue to chase smugglers in coordination with other security and intelligence.
