Spanish men football team was in its training camp in Las Rozas in Madrid, to prepare for the 2018 World Cup in Russia, due to kick off on June 14.
Spain will travel to Russia on June 7 and will train in the sport village ahead of an international friendly against Tunisia on June 9.
Team manager Julen Lopetegui said the sport village in Russia was suitable because the weather was similar to the one in Madrid or southern Spain.
The sport village, he added in a statement, was quiet and has a strategic location. It is 15-minute drive from the airport. Spain will be playing in Black Sea resort of Sochi, which is 30 minutes by car from the sport village.
Kazan and Kaliningrad, two cities to host Spain’s matches, were also close to the sport village.
Spain road to the World Cup in Russia was smooth. The 2010 World Cup winners led its group, which included Italy, Albania, Israel, Macedonia and Liechtenstein.
La Roja will play its first clash against Portugal on June 15 in Sochi, then Iran in Kazan five days later and the final match against Morocco in Kaliningrad on June 25.
Spain’s squad includes goalkeepers David De Gea, Pepe Reina and Kepa Arrizabalaga, defenders Gerard Pique, Alvaro Arzallus, Sergio Ramos, Nacho Fernandez, Cesar Azpilicueta, Jodri Alba, Nacho Monreal and Dani Carvajal.
The midfielders are Sergio Busquets, Saul Niguez, Koke, Thiago, Andres Iniesta and David Silva. Attacking midfielders and strikers are Isco, Marco Asensio, Lucas Vazquez, Iago Aspas, Rodrigo Moreno and Diego Costa.
The Spaniards, who rank 8th in FIFA ranking, will play their first friendly against Switzerland on Sunday.
Real Madrid players will not play this match because they needed a rest following their victory in the UEFA Champions League against Liverpool.
