The fourth round of Kuwait-United States Strategic Dialogue focuses on prospects of promoting the US investment in Kuwait, particularly in the health sector, Assistant Foreign Minister for the Two Americas Affairs Hamad Al-Mishaan said on Thursday.
“We have explored ways to increase the volume of bilateral trade and the foreign direct investment, and how to improve the business atmosphere,” he told KUNA on the sidelines of the bilateral working group on trade and investment.
This year’s round of the dialogue is being held via a video link between November 9 and 24.
Ambassador Al-Mishaan pointed out the meeting of this working group saw the signing of a MoU on cooperation in health and medical sciences between the Kuwaiti Ministry of Health and the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).
“The document was signed by Undersecretary of the Kuwaiti Ministry of Health Dr. Mostafa Redha and Director of HHS Office of Global Affairs (OGA) Garrett Grigsby,” he added.
On her part, US Ambassador in Kuwait Alina L. Romanowski highlighted the significance of the role of this working group in strengthening the bilateral trade and joint investment.
She expressed, in press remarks on the fringes of the virtual meeting, the desire to promote cooperation in all areas of the strategic dialogue, including defense, cybersecurity, information technology, healthcare and energy.
