ISTANBUL, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said Sunday a Syrian constitutional committee, consisting of civil society groups, opposition and regime, would be formed within coming few days.
Turkey is coordinating with countries involved in the Syrian conflict – including Russia and Iran – towards formation of a committee that would write a new constitution, coordinate US withdrawal from Syria as well as reviving Geneva final communique, Cavusoglu said in a press release in Istanbul.
Turkey, he said, was preserving ceasefire in the area through protection of an understanding with Russia over the demilitarized zonez in Idleb.
Cavusoglu meanwhile called for providing support for the Syrian refugees who were returning to their country.
Turkey and the European Union will organize a conference in Brussels on March 14 to discuss support for the Syrian refugees.
