The PMF Lead A Qualitative Operation To Besiege “ISIS” In One Of The Tunnels In Nineveh

The Nineveh Operations Command of the Popular Mobilization Forces carried out a qualitative operation to besiege one of ISIS tunnels, southwest of Hatra.

A statement by the PMF’s media stated, “The commander of the Nineveh Operations of the Popular Mobilization, Khadir al-Matrohi, supervised the head of a large force represented by brigades (21, 44, 60) and the departments of the PMF directorates and the support operations command, in conjunction with a force from the 57th Brigade of the PMF, the Directorate of Armor Fighting, army units, and air hawks, on a number of terrorist ISIS remnants were trapped inside a tunnel near Geneva Airport, deep in Sahara desert that extends between the governorates of Nineveh, Salah al-Din, and Anbar, based on reliable intelligence information about the existence of the tunnel and the terrorist elements.

The statement added, “The forces besieged ISIS elements inside the tunnel in Abu Hassal, which is about a kilometer long, southwest of Hatra.”

Earlier, the Popular Mobilization Forces managed to kill three ISIS members near the airport, west of Nineveh Governorate.
