The President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, congratulated today, Monday, the Popular Mobilization Forces on the occasion of the anniversary of its founding.
Rashid said in a statement by the Presidency of the Republic: “These days we are celebrating the anniversary of the founding of the Popular Mobilization Forces, which came in conjunction with the announcement of the religious authority’s fatwa on jihad to confront the challenges of terrorism and the heinous crimes of ISIS gangs.”
The statement added, “The Presidency of the Republic blesses and congratulates the heroes of the popular mobilization forces, the makers of victory and the heroes of liberation, on this occasion, which came as a necessary response to the difficult circumstances and the complex situations that our country went through and represented by the serious threats of terrorism, extremism and misguided ideas.
It continued: “As we live this memory, we do not miss to salute with respect and appreciation the fatwa of the jihad issued by His Eminence, the supreme religious authority, Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Ali al-Sistani, which constituted an important starting point in uniting the ranks to resist and defeat terrorism and liberate cities and villages in a difficult circumstance in the history of our country and our people.
The statement continued: “Today, after defeating terrorism, we need to unify our efforts and work on a national program to strengthen security and stability, preserve the achievements made, and pass the necessary legislation that regulates the joints of work in our institutions and protects the rights of Iraqis of various affiliations and components, and proceeds towards a new stage of construction, reconstruction and rehabilitation of infrastructure to Iraqi cities, and to provide health, educational and services to our people.”
