Trump demands to meet the whistleblower

WASHINGTON, US President Donald Trump has demanded to meet the whistleblower, saying he deserves to meet his “accuser.” Trump said in a series of tweets late Sunday “like every American, I deserve to meet my accuser, especially when this accuser, the so-called “Whistleblower,” represented a perfect conversation with a foreign leader in a totally inaccurate and fraudulent way.

“In addition, I want to meet not only my accuser, who presented SECOND and THIRD HAND INFORMATION, but also the person who illegally gave this information, which was largely incorrect, to the “Whistleblower,” he added.

He stressed, “was this person SPYING on the US President? Big Consequences!” Trump once again attacked the Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee Adam Schiff, saying “Schiff made up what I actually said by lying to Congress.

“His lies were made in perhaps the most blatant and sinister manner ever seen in the great Chamber. He wrote down and read terrible things, then said it was from the mouth of the President of the United States,” he noted.

He demanded that he wants Schiff “questioned at the highest level for Fraud and Treason.” For his part, Schiff said earlier on Sunday that the whistleblower will testify “very soon” before Congress.

“We are taking all the precautions we can to protect the whistleblower’s identity,” he added. “With President Trump’s threats, you can imagine the security concerns here.” “we’ll get the unfiltered testimony of that whistleblower,” he affirmed.

Meanwhile, lawyers for the whistleblower sent a letter to the acting Director of National Intelligence Joseph Maguire in which they wrote that the “purpose” of the letter is to “formally notify you of serious concerns we have regarding our client’s personal safety.” This comes amid reports that US Special Envoy to Ukraine Kurt Volker has resigned on Friday after three House committees scheduled a deposition with him as his name was mentioned in the whistleblower’s complaint.

On Tuesday, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced that the House of Representatives “is moving forward with an official impeachment inquiry” of Trump amid a filed complaint by the whistleblower about his phone call with Ukrainian President, asking him to investigate the former Vice President and 2020 presidential candidate Joe Biden and his son.
