Trump might halt undocumented Mexican migrants for trade deal talks

WASHINGTON, US President Donald Trump said on Monday that he may require Mexico to halt the flow of undocumented migrants into the US in order to renegotiate a trade deal.

“Mexico, whose laws on immigration are very tough, must stop people from going through Mexico and into the US.

“We may make this a new condition of our new NAFTA Agreement. Our Country cannot accept what is happening, also, we must get Wall funding fast,” he wrote on social media website Twitter.

“It could be two weeks, it could be three months, it could be five months, I don’t care,” he added.

Trump previously said that he had no timeline for the renegotiation of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA).

Despite what has been cited as progress on the agreement, the president’s threats to exit NAFTA has haunted US industry during the time of uncertainty.
