The White House acknowledged reports of FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe’s resignation on Monday but said President Donald Trump “wasn’t part of the decision-making process.” White House spokesperson Sarah Sanders also told reporters that McCabe’s decision to step down was “not made by the White House.” Trump also stands by his previous comments about McCabe as being politically biased against him, noted Sanders. “We have concerns about him,” said the spokesperson.
“We’ve seen numerous reports. We don’t have any specific comments. I can say the president was not part of the decision-making process,” Sanders said.
Meanwhile, Trump has “full confidence” in FBI Director Christopher Wray and “has put the decisions of the FBI in his hands.”
