Trump responds to House documents’ request, says Russia probe “all a hoax”

WASHINGTON, US President Donald Trump on Monday responded the House request of documents related to his administration, family and business in the context of investigation into the Russian intervention in 2016 presidential elections by reiterating that the probe is “all a hoax.” “I cooperate all the time with everybody. You know the beautiful thing –no collusion. It’s all a hoax,” Trump told reporters at the White House.

“It’s a political hoax. There’s no collusion,” he maintained.

White House press secretary Sarah Sanders declared earlier that “the House Judiciary Committee’s letter has been received by the White House. The Counsel’s Office and relevant White House officials will review it and respond at the appropriate time.” The committee is requesting documents from more than 60 people.

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler says the panel wants to review documents from the Justice Department, Trump’s son Donald Trump Jr. and Trump Organization chief financial officer Allen Weisselberg.

He says former White House chief of staff John Kelly and former White House counsel Don McGahn also are likely targets.
