Trump to deal “very successfully” with Pyongyang’s threat

WASHINGTON, President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that the US will “deal very successfully” with North Korea’s Christmas gift.

“We’ll find out what the surprise is. We’ll find out what the surprise is and we’ll deal with it very successfully,” he told reporters at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida. Let’s see what happens — I handle them (surprises) as they come along,” Trump said.

Asked what options he is considering if Pyongyang launches a long-range missile test, he said, “We’ll see what happens. We can see what happens — Let’s see.” “Maybe it’s a nice present. Maybe it’s up present where he (Kim Jong Un) sends me a beautiful vase as opposed to a missile test, right? I may get a vase. I may get a nice present from him. You don’t know. You never know.” This comes as Pyongyang conducted twice this month what appeared to be rocket engine tests at its coast satellite launch site, fueling concerns that it could fire off a long-range rocket as Pyongyang threatened to give the US a “Christmas gift.”
