WASHINGTON, US President Donald Trump said Wednesday that he “just had a very good call” with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, confirming their meeting at the White House next week.
Trump tweeted that Erodgan informed him “that they have captured numerous (IS) fighters that were reported to have escaped during the conflict – including a wife and sister of terrorist killer al Baghdadi.” He added “also talked about their Border with Syria, the eradication of terrorism, the ending of hostilities with the Kurds, and many other topics.” “Look forward to seeing President Erdogan next Wednesday, November 13th at the White House,” Trump confirmed. Erdogan announced today that his forces captured wife of the late leader of IS Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, while on Tuesday Turkish Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu said security authorities were investigating al-Baghdadi’s sister, Rasmiyah Awad, who was arrested with her husband in the northern Syrian city of Aazaz in a security operation.
Trump announced last month al-Baghdadi’s death in an operation carried by American Forces in northwestern Syria’s Idlib province.
