Tunisia dismisses foreign, defense ministers

TUNIS, The Tunisian government dismissed Defense Minister Abdulkarim Al-Zubaidi? and Foreign Minister Khemaies Jhinaoui after few days of newly-elected President Kais Saied’s assumption of power.

The Tunisian government said in a statement on Tuesday that it appointed current Justice Minister Karim Jamoussi as acting Defense Minister.

Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Sabri Bachtobji will be acting Foreign Minister, it added.

According to the Tunisian constitution, the president is tasked with appointing defense and foreign minister after discussing the matter with the Prime Minister.
