Tunisia, Libya to boost cooperation

TUNIS, Tunisia’s President Kais Saied, and Chairman of the Presidential Council of Libya and Prime Minister of the Government of National Accord (GNA) Fayez Al-Seraj discussed on Tuesday means of promoting economic and political cooperation, and solving humanitarian files between the two countries.

This came during a meeting held between Saied and Al-Seraj who arrived in Tunisia on an official visit, a Tunisian presidential statement said.

The two sides also dealt with how to remove all obstacles to help transport people and commodities between the two sides by sea and land, it added.

They stressed the necessity of putting an end to the problem of Tunisian children held in Libya, it noted.

The talks covered the file of Libyans who are prevented from entering Tunisia, it said.

The two leaders stressed the necessity of finding a resolution to the situation in Libya within the framework of the international legitimacy.

Saied, meanwhile, underlined the necessity of finding a comprehensive political settlement to the Libyan crisis so as to severe Libyans’ interest, according to the statement.
