ANKARA, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said that his country and the US are coordinating for the latter’s withdrawal from Syria.
In a statement published by Anadolu Agency (AA), Cavusoglu said the two sides will evaluate means of the US army’s withdrawal without facing any trouble, noting that they had formed a joint mission force for the matter.
He also stressed on the need to move the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) and other groups out of Manbij north Syria to ensure stability.
Meanwhile, the Foreign Minister affirmed Turkey’s refusal of creating a buffer zone that will safeguard terrorists, adding that his country is in favor of establishing a safe zone.
Last December, US President Donald Trump announced the withdrawal of his troops from Syria after defeating the so-called Islamic State (IS) terrorist group.
