LONDON Prime Minister Boris Johnson is reshuffling the cabinet with changes affecting eight ministers thus far. Amid the reshuffling, Chancellor Sajid Javid announced a surprise resignation.
A statement by the Prime Minister’s office said that Northern Ireland Secretary Julian Smith and Business Secretary Andrea Leadsom are among the early casualties.
The resignation also included Housing Minister Esther McVey and Environment Secretary Theresa Villiers, Attorney General Geoffrey Cox, and others figures.
Most of the cabinet were appointed when Boris Johnson became prime minister in July. This formation remained after Johnson won a majority in the December 12 elections.
