UN General Assembly chief arrives in Kuwait on two-day visit

 

United Nations General Assembly President Volkan Bozkir arrived in Kuwait on Saturday for an official visit during which he will meet senior state officials.
The two-day trip will Bozkir’s last as President of the General Assembly’s 75th session, he said in a statement a day prior.
The Turkish diplomat’s talks will focus on Kuwait’s important role with regards to multilateral diplomacy, humanitarian efforts, conflict prevention and regional issues, he added.
Bozkir will emphasize the need to continue strengthening multilateralism, particularly in regards to the global fight against the coronavirus pandemic.
He will also discuss the implementation of UN-endorsed Sustainable Development Goals, ensuring access to COVID-19 vaccines for all and supporting groups that are the most vulnerable.
