US President announces deal with Mexico to prevent immigration

WASHINGTON, US and Mexico had reached an agreement to suspend customs tariffs on Mexico, which in turn agreed to take strong measures to stem the flow of immigrants, said President Donald Trump.

“I am pleased to inform you that the United States of America has reached an agreement with Mexico,” Trump tweeted Friday.

“The tariffs scheduled to be implemented by the U.S. on Monday against Mexico, are hereby indefinitely suspended,” he added.

The US President assured that the details of the agreement will be released shortly by the State Department.

On May 30, President Trump also announced his intention to impose a five percent tariff on all goods coming in from Mexico in order to avoid illegal immigration.
