DOHA, The peace talks between the United States and the Afghan Taliban movement resumed on Saturday more than three months after President Donald Trump called them off.
The negotiating teams of both sides thanked Qatar for the great role it plays to facilitate the talks aiming to end the 18-year conflict in Afghanistan, Qatar News Agency (QNA) reported.
Nine rounds of the talks were held before the suspension.
During his surprise Thanksgiving visit to American troops in Afghanistan on Thursday, November 18, President Trump announced his decision to reopen the negotiations.
