BAGHDAD, The US Embassy in Baghdad urged Sunday American citizens in Iraq to be vigilant because of what it described as rising tension.
The Embassy, in a statement, urged Americans to refrain from traveling to Iraq and urged those already in the country to stay indoors as much as possible and be in contact with the embassy.
Americans in Iraq are supporting the Iraqi security forces, carrying out humanitarian missions, excavating on relics and active in economic projects.
Tension has been rising between the US and Iran since Washington branded Iran’s revolutionary guards as terrorist group, prompting Tehran to consider the US Central Command a terrorist entity.
