World Teacher’s Day.. special occasion to appreciate every educator

) – The World Teacher’s Day is a special event to show appreciation for every educator who dedicates his/her time to support and inspire students to achieve the best educational journey, said two Kuwaiti officials.

In remarks to KUNA, on the World Teacher’s Day, which falls on October 5, Kuwait Teacher Association President, Hamad Al-Houly said that this year is so special due to the resumption of education after a year and a half of online schooling because of the spread of the coronavirus.

Al-Houly also went on stressing the necessity of implementing the health measures in schools after the educational process resumption to ensure the students’ safety.

He noted that the celebration of this day is kind of an appreciation and gratitude for every teacher, stressing the importance of this vital job in developing an educated generation.

The celebration of this occasion reflects Kuwait’s keenness on honoring teachers and highlighting their important role in society, Al-Houly added.

Furthermore, he touched on Kuwait’s Teacher Association stances, praising its efforts in defending the teachers’ cases, preserving their rights.

Al-Houly congratulated all educators on this occasion, saying that the Teachers Association expresses gratitude to them and their appreciated efforts.

For her part, the Science Subject Supervisor in the Education Ministry, Mona Al-Ansari, lauded the huge efforts paid by teachers during the outbreak of the coronavirus.

World Teachers’ Day is held annually on 5 October to celebrate all teachers around the globe.

It commemorates the anniversary of the adoption of the 1966 ILO/UNESCO Recommendation concerning the Status of Teachers, which sets benchmarks regarding the rights and responsibilities of teachers, and standards for their initial preparation and further education, recruitment, employment, and teaching and learning conditions.
