– The Kuwaiti National Petroleum Company on Wednesday inaugurated a new fuel filling station at the southern residential district of Sabah Al-Ahmad.<\/p>\n
It is the 18th and the last station in the first phase of a strategy to build up to 100 new ones.<\/p>\n
Ghanem Al-Otaibi, the company Deputy Chief Executive Officer, said in a statement to KUNA that with the opening of the new station, the KNPC has finalized the first phase of the long-term plan.<\/p>\n
The KNPC is committed to the strategy, execution of which kicked off in December 2019, when it opened the first station.<\/p>\n
Architectural designs of the second batch of planned stations have been finalized, he said, forecasting that their construction and operation would be in the 2025-2026 period.<\/p>\n
The current number of the gas stations is 61; spread all over the country, in addition to three mobile stations, set to be replaced with fixed ones.<\/p>\n
Out of the company’s keenness on protecting the environment, he continued, the KNPC equipped the new stations with solar energy panels that generate 30 percent of the whole amount of the consumed electricity at the stations.<\/p>\n
Moreover, these stations are equipped with systems that cut harmful gases emitted from vehicles, another method to minimize air pollution at the locations.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
