Chinese Deputy Foreign Minister for West Asian and North African Affairs Wang Di said Saturday the wise and balanced policy of the dexterous political leadership of the State of Kuwait helped strengthen security and peace in the region.
\nThe People’s Republic of China takes a strategic approach to its relations with the State of Kuwait and stands ready to cement cooperation in all economic, commercial, investment, cultural and academic areas, he said.
\nThe Chinese official made the comments during his meeting with Kuwait Ambassador to China Sameeh Essa Johar Hayat whose term in office is about to expire.
\nDi said the bilateral ties make great strides in all fields in the recent years thanks to the diplomatic representation of Kuwait in China, which grew to four premises – an embassy in Beijing and three consulates general in Shanghai, Guangzhou and Hong Kong.
\nBoth countries deepened mutual trust through a range of agreements and MoUs, and maintain fruitful coordination on the regional and international scales.
\nThey maintained solidarity and exchanged assistance during the Covid-19 pandemic, the Chinese official noted.
\nOn his part, Ambassador Hayat said Kuwait attaches great importance to the development of the friendly relations with China.
\nThe government and people of Kuwait are confident that the friendship and cooperation with China will make outstanding achievements in the coming stage, he affirmed.
\nChina maintained its position as Kuwait’s biggest trade partner in the past five years even during the Covid-19 pandemic, he said, attributing the achievement to the wise political leaderships of both sides.<\/p>\n
