The International Islamic Charitable Organization (IICO) signed a partnership a USD two million agreement with the Islamic Development Bank to support and implement a project to address learning difficulties for Syrian refugees and displaced persons.<\/p>\n
In a speech during the inauguration ceremony, IICO Chief Dr. Abdullah Al-Maatouq that the commission and its volunteer teams continue their humanitarian interventions with its partners to alleviate the refugees suffering.<\/p>\n
Al-Maatouq also noted that the project to address learning difficulties is one of a group of educational paths that the Islamic Development Bank has addressed as part of its pioneering initiative to support the education program for Syrian refugees and displaced persons.<\/p>\n
He stated that thousands of relief, development, cultural, social and psychological projects have been implemented in the past years, including the estimated shelter projects for about 6,212 housing units, at a total cost of about USD 26 million, benefiting more than 37,000 displaced people and refugees.<\/p>\n
In turn, the member of the higher committee of the project and the head of the Islamic (Tamayuz) Society, Dr. Khaled Al-Subaihi, said that the experience of this educational work in Lebanon through the field of refugee education gave the association an experience that revealed the difficulties of educating the displaced children, most notably psychological, material and social.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
