Kuwait took part in a UNESCO Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage meeting at Morocco’s capital, Rabat, on Monday.<\/p>\n
The participation comes from the “importance” the Gulf Arab country attaches to the matter, delegation head and Kuwait’s permanent UNESCO representative, Ambassador Adam Al-Mulla, told KUNA.<\/p>\n
It hopes that a list of potential intangible cultural heritage are approved at the session or coming sessions, added the diplomat.<\/p>\n
Kuwait’s AlSadu Weaving Cooperative Society, at the talks, presented the file for “best conservation practices,” Chairperson Sheikha Bibi Duaij Al-Jaber Al-Ali Al-Sabah said, hoping it receives the required number of votes by UNESCO committee members.<\/p>\n
The society is a non-profit, self-sustained organisation, dedicated to the preservation, documentation and promotion of Kuwait’s rich and diverse bedouin textile heritage.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
